GLENDALE -- Coyotes forward Mikkel Boedker is listed as week-to-week after suffering an upper-body injury in Sunday's game at Winnipeg.
Boedker, 25, suffered a ruptured spleen during the game and underwent successful surgery later that night. He is recovering well in Winnipeg.
Boedker leads the Coyotes with 14 goals and ranks third on the team with 28 points.
"He’s a good offensive player and it just seems like he’s playing with a lot of confidence right now," Head Coach Dave Tippett told Todd Walsh of FOX Sports Arizona. "He’ll certainly be missed out of our lineup... It's funny how it goes. We've been pushing people to start scoring more, other than him, and now it's a necessity with him gone."
The Coyotes will play the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. The team's next game after that is not until Jan. 27 at Philadelphia.
Before being injured on Sunday, Boedker extended his consecutive games played streak to 257 - the fourth longest in franchise history.
Boedker scored a career-high 19 goals in 82 games last season. This season, he has scored a team-high 14 goals in 45 games.
