GLENDALE, ARIZONA ---The Arizona Coyotes announced today that the franchise now owns the third overall selection at the 2022 NHL Draft following this evening's NHL Draft lottery. In addition to selecting third overall, the Coyotes own two additional first round picks as well as four second round picks and picks in the third, fifth and sixth rounds.

The 2022 NHL Draft will take place at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec on July 7-8.
"We are excited to have won the No. 3 overall selection in this year's NHL Entry Draft," said Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong. "With the third overall pick, we will explore all of our options and make the best decision that adds a great player to our young, talented nucleus of players. We are looking forward to the Draft in Montreal."

This marks the third time in franchise history that the club has owned the third overall selection in the NHL Draft. Since the Coyotes relocated to the Valley in 1996, the highest position the team has drafted was third overall in 2007 (Kyle Turris) and 2015 (Dylan Strome).
Notable No. 3 picks selected in the NHL Draft since 1999 include Henrik Sedin (1999), Marian Gaborik (2000), Jay Bouwmeester (2002), Nathan Horton (2003), Jonathan Toews (2006), Matt Duchene (2009), Leon Draisaitl (2014), Pierre-Luc Dubois (2016), Miro Heiskanen (2017) and Tim Stutzle (2020).
The Coyotes currently own ten selections in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The following is a complete list of the Draft choices the Coyotes currently own:
