Missing the top-five returning scorers in their lineup, the Arizona Coyotes fell 4-0 to the Vancouver Canucks on Friday at Rogers Arena. The Coyotes were without forwards Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz, Travis Boyd, Lawson Crouse, and defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere in their second-to-last game of the preseason.
Bo Horvat, Dakota Joshua, Elias Pettersson, and Andrei Kuzmenko scored for the Canucks, who ended their preseason schedule with a record of 2-3-2.

"Vancouver, they put their full lineup in, which was good for us, we get the rust off and have some lessons here," said head coach André Tourigny. "Moving forward we'll be better."
Vancouver opened the scoring with a power-play goal after Horvat redirected a shot from the point past goalie Karel Vejmelka just 3:29 into the game. Arizona's penalty kill continued its strong play after that, however, as the Coyotes killed off nine of the 10 penalties called against them.
They have allowed just four power-play goals on 33 chances throughout the preseason.
"Defensively, we did some good things," Tourigny said. "We need to make more plays offensively, and more execution, and generate some offense."

The Canucks took a 2-0 lead less than three minutes later after Curtis Lazar intercepted Vejmelka's pass from behind the net and sent the puck to a wide-open Joshua, who slipped the puck past Arizona's netminder.
Pettersson gave Vancouver a 3-0 lead at 8:58 of the second period, and Kuzmenko rounded out the scoring with just five seconds left in the middle frame, scoring on a breakaway moments after he stepped out of the penalty box.
Arizona finishes its exhibition schedule against the Vegas Golden Knights in Boise, Idaho on Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 pm MST. The game will air on ESPN Plus.
