Michael Carcone and Nick Ritchie scored, but the Arizona Coyotes fell 6-2 to the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Thursday.
Karel Vejmelka stopped 28 of the 34 shots he faced while Barrett Hayton finished with two points for the Coyotes.
Six different players scored for the Flyers, who won their fourth straight game. Three Philadelphia players finished with three-or-more points, while Carter Hart made 21 saves to earn his 11th win of the season.

Arizona and Philadelphia split the season series. The game featured multiple milestones for the Coyotes, as Shayne Gostisbehere played in his 500th career game, and the league also announced that Clayton Keller will represent the Coyotes at the 2023 NHL All-Star Game, marking his third such selection.
Carcone scored the only goal of the first period breaking in on a partial breakaway, making a nice move against the defense before firing it up and over Hart.

Things opened up in a six-goal second period, five of which came from the Flyers. Travis Konecny tied the game just 25 seconds into the frame, but Ritchie's goal just over a minute later gave Arizona a brief 2-1 lead.
Joel Farabee tied the game at 4:41 of the period before Wade Allison, Ivan Provorov, and Kevin Hayes scored within five minutes of each other to push the Flyers ahead 5-2.
"That was tough to explain," said head coach André Tourigny. "We need to find a solution."
James van Riemsdyk potted a late third-period goal to round out the scoring.
Philadelphia finished 2-for-3 with the power play, while the Coyotes were 0-for-1.
Shortly after the game ended, Coyotes forward Dylan Guenther scored the overtime, game-winning, gold medal-winning goal for Team Canada in the 2023 World Junior Championship. Guenther had two goals and an assist in the game to help Canada win its second straight World Juniors gold.

The Coyotes are right back in action on Friday, wrapping up their four-game road trip against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center. The game will be broadcast on Bally Sports Arizona Extra (TV) and ESPN 620 AM (Radio), and puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 pm MST.
