Juuso Välimäki and Lawson Crouse both scored, but the Arizona Coyotes were unable to overcome an early deficit and ultimately fell 7-2 to the Dallas Stars at Mullett Arena on Thursday. The club now hits the road to play the Capitals in Washington D.C. on Saturday.
Välimäki's goal was his first as a member of the Coyotes after the team
claimed the 24-year-old off waivers
on Oct. 9. Crouse now leads the team with five goals scored in 10 games.

Arizona's next game at Mullett Arena is Dec. 9 against the Boston Bruins.
Jason Robertson, Denis Gurianov, Wyatt Johnston, Ty Dellandrea, Jamie Benn, and Jani Hakanpaa scored for the Stars, and former Coyotes netminder Scott Wedgewood made 28 saves in his second win of the season.
Coyotes goalies Connor Ingram and Karel Vejmelka combined for 29 saves.
Thursday's loss came after the team's thrilling win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday -- its first-ever win at Mullett Arena.
"It's tough, we come off a huge win the other night, obviously emotions were running high," Crouse said. "I don't know if they were running too high to start that game, but we didn't come to play the way that we needed to play, and it cost us the game."
Thursday's game was also significant for forward Dylan Guenther, who was playing in his ninth NHL game. General Manager Bill Armstrong and head coach André Tourigny now need to decide if the 19-year-old will remain with the team, as opposed to returning back to the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
If Guenther plays in another NHL game this season, the first year of his entry-level contract will officially kick in.

"I feel like, for me, I've gotten better every game, and gotten more comfortable every game," Guenther said. "I think in order for me to keep improving, you want to play against the best players every day."
Guenther has recorded two goals and four assists in his nine NHL games.
"I like his thought process in the game," Tourigny said. "He has a good read defensively. Defensively he still has some work to do, but he's open to it, and he pays attention. Obviously he's an offensive threat."
Gurianov and Johnston scored in the first 3:54 of the game to give Dallas an early two-goal lead, as Dellandrea and Robertson rounded out the scoring in the frame.
The 23-year-old Robertson added another in the second - his second goal of the game - before Benn scored early in the third period.
Välimäki and Crouse pulled the Coyotes to within 6-2 before Hakanpaa potted his second of the season at 15:45 of the third.

"I would have loved to have bounced back earlier in the game, get somethjing going, get a spark, get someone, shift the momentum, something," Tourigny said. "But that did not happen."
Saturday's game against the Capitals will be broadcast on Bally Sports Arizona Extra (TV) and KTAR News 92.3 FM (Radio). Puck drop is scheduled for 4 pm MST.
