• Tuesday, March 5th: Portland 4, at Connecticut 3 (SO)

The Pirates started off the week with a shootout victory over the Connecticut Whale at the XL Center.

Chris Conner had a goal and an assist for the Pirates, and Andy Miele scored the game-winner in the first round of the sudden death format of the shootout.

• Friday, March 8th: Manchester 4, Portland 3 (OT)

Portland dropped Game 10 of the VIP Cup series in overtime.

Portland scored three goals in the first, but were unable to hold the lead.

Alexandre Bolduc had two assists, and Chris Brown, Darian Dziurzynski, and Jordan Szwarz scored the Pirates goals.

• Saturday, March 9th: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4, Portland 3 (OT)

In a heated battle, the Pirates fell in overtime to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Hall of Fame night.

Chris Brown scored twice, but the Pirates were unable to hold on for the victory in a game that saw 39 penalty minutes assessed after the game had ended.

• Sunday, March 10th: at Worcester 5, Portland 3

The Pirates traveled to Worcester for the last time this season, where they dropped a 5-3 decision.

Portland managed to tie the score at 3 in the third period with goals from Alexandre Bolduc and Jordan Martinook just 51 seconds apart, but Adam Comrie scored for Worcester just 23 seconds after the Pirates tied the score to give Worcester the lead and the win.

Five prospects are playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators:

• Goalie Mike Lee is 14-11-1 with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.

• Goalie Louis Domingue is 18-9-2 with a 2.81 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage.

• Forward Scott Arnold has seven goals and nine assists in 26 games.

• Forward Evan Bloodoff has 20 goals and 17 assists in 45 games.

• Defenseman Justin Weller has two goals and five assists in 58 games.

Canadian Hockey League

Ten prospects are playing junior hockey for Canadian Hockey League teams:

• Defenseman Mathieu Brisebois has 18 goals and 53 assists in 61 games for Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL)

• Forward Andrew Fritsch has 26 goals and 23 assists in 53 games for Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)

• Defenseman Justin Hache has seven goals and 25 assists in 65 games for Cape Breton (QMJHL)

• Forward Kale Kessy has 19 goals and 21 assists in 58 games for Vancouver (WHL) and Kamloops (WHL)

• Forward Lucas Lessio has 15 goals and 15 assists in 32 games for Oshawa (OHL)

• Defenseman James Melindy has three goals and 20 assists in 63 games for Moncton (QMJHL)

• Defenseman Connor Murphy (injured) has six goals and 12 assists in 33 games for Sarnia (OHL)

• Forward Henrik Samuelsson has 32 goals and 47 assists in 67 games for Edmonton (WHL)

• Forward Maxime Villemaire has 12 goals and 10 assists in 26 games for Saint John (QMJHL).

• Goalie Marek Langhamer is 15-10-1 with a 3.17 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage for Medicine Hat (WHL)


• Forward Samuel "Hunter" Fejes has six goals and five assists in 35 games for Colorado College (WCHA)

• Defenseman Rhett Holland (injured) has played three games for Michigan State (CCHA)

• Forward Zac Larraza has 11 goals and nine assists in 32 games for University of Denver (WCHA)


• Forward Viktor Tikhonov has 12 goals and 15 assists in 39 games for St. Petersburg.

European Elite Leagues

• Defenseman Jonas Ahnelov has two goals and six assists in 53 games for Modo (SWE)

• Forward Vladimir Ruzicka has five goals and 22 assists in 50 games for Slavia Praha (CZECH)

Finnish Leagues

• Forward Alexander Ruuttu has nine goals and 17 assists in 35 games for Kiekko-Vantaa (FIN D1), has four assists in 17 games for Ilves (SM-liiga), and has played four games for Jokerit (SM-liiga)

• Defenseman Niklas Tikkinen has three goals and 15 assists in 14 games for Espoo (Jr. A SM-liiga), one goal and seven assists in 25 games for Espoo (SM-liiga), one goal and two assists in five games for HCK (Finland2), and three assists in two games for LeKi (Finland2).
