Friday, February 15th: at Connecticut 4, Portland 1

The Pirates fell to the Connecticut Whale for the third time in as many games, dropping a 4-1 decision at the XL Center in Hartford.

Alexandre Bolduc scored the lone goal for the Pirates and Mike Lee made 24 saves in relief of injured Chad Johnson.

Saturday, February 16th: Portland 3, at Springfield 1

Mike Lee stopped 27 of 28 shots and Boris Valabik scored his first Pirates goal to lead the Pirates to a 3-1 victory over the conference leading Springfield Falcons.

Chris Brown and Rob Klinkhammer also scored for Portland.

Sunday, February 17th: Portland 6, St. John’s 1

The Pirates routed the St. John’s IceCaps by a 6-1 score at the regular season finale at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston.

Chris Brown scored twice and Mike Lee stopped 31 of 32 shots to pick up his fifth victory in six career AHL games.

Phil Lane, Brendan Shinnimin, Evan Brophey, and Alexandre Bolduc also scored for Portland.

Four prospects are playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators:

• Goalie Mike Lee is 14-11-1 with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.

• Goalie Louis Domingue is 16-8-2 with a 2.94 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage.

• Forward Scott Arnold has five goals and eight assists in 21 games.

• Defenseman Justin Weller has two goals and four assists in 49 games.

Canadian Hockey League

Nine prospects are playing junior hockey for Canadian Hockey League teams:

• Forward Andrew Fritsch has 22 goals and 16 assists in 44 games for Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)

• Defenseman Justin Hache has five goals and 20 assists in 57 games for Cape Breton (QMJHL)

• Forward Kale Kessy has 15 goals and 15 assists in 48 games for Vancouver (WHL) and Kamloops (WHL)

• Forward Lucas Lessio has 10 goals and 10 assists in 23 games for Oshawa (OHL)

• Defenseman James Melindy has three goals and 15 assists in 54 games for Moncton (QMJHL)

• Defenseman Connor Murphy (injured) has six goals and 12 assists in 33 games for Sarnia (OHL)

• Forward Henrik Samuelsson has 29 goals and 41 assists in 59 games for Edmonton (WHL)

• Forward Maxime Villemaire has six goals and seven assists in 17 games for Saint John (QMJHL).

• Goalie Marek Langhamer is 11-10-1 with a 3.67 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage for Medicine Hat (WHL)


• Forward Samuel "Hunter" Fejes has five goals and five assists in 29 games for Colorado College (WCHA)

• Defenseman Rhett Holland (injured) has played three games for Michigan State (CCHA)

• Forward Zac Larraza has seven goals and eight assists in 26 games for University of Denver (WCHA)


• Forward Viktor Tikhonov has 12 goals and 15 assists in 39 games for St. Petersburg.

European Elite Leagues

• Defenseman Jonas Ahnelov has two goals and six assists in 47 games for Modo (SWE)

• Forward Vladimir Ruzicka has five goals and 21 assists in 45 games for Slavia Praha (CZECH)

Finnish Leagues

• Forward Alexander Ruuttu has nine goals and 17 assists in 35 games for Kiekko-Vantaa (FIN D1), has two assists in eight games for Ilves (SM-liiga), and has played four games for Jokerit (SM-liiga)

• Defenseman Niklas Tikkinen has three goals and 11 assists in 12 games for Espoo (Jr. A SM-liiga), one goal and seven assists in 23 games for Espoo (SM-liiga), one goal and two assists in five games for HCK (Finland2), and three assists in two games for LeKi (Finland2).
