Washington Capitals to Promote Youth Hockey Game of the Week

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals are partnering with the Maryland Student Hockey League (MSHL) to support the Class 1A semifinal matchup at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, Md., on Monday, Feb. 24, at 5 p.m. The contest will feature Annapolis Old Mill versus Montgomery Blair.

This marks the second consecutive year the Capitals have partnered with local youth hockey leagues to promote the Youth Hockey Game of the Week.

The Washington Capitals and Monumental Network will produce a highlight package, provide analysis and a postgame recap featuring interviews with players and coaches from both teams. Footage will be available following the game on

In addition several Capitals personalities will be in attendance, including former Washington defenseman Sylvain Cote, radio play-by-play announcer John Walton, mascot Slapshot and Red Rockers. Prior to the contest Cote will participate in a ceremonial puck drop alongside players from both teams.
