ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals along with several Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia-area rinks will participate in USA Hockey’s Try Hockey for Free Day Presented by Kraft Heinz on Saturday, Nov. 7. The event will help kick off the fifth annual Come Play Hockey Month, which takes place during the entire month of November.
Nearly 500 rinks across the country will invite boys and girls ages four to nine years old to “Try Hockey for Free” with clinics aimed to help kids experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basics of the sport in a fun, safe environment.
Entering its sixth season, USA Hockey's national Try Hockey For Free Days, presented by Kraft Heinz, have introduced more than 90,000 children to the sport. Try Hockey For Free Day is part of Come Play Hockey Month. Come Play Hockey Month is a component of the NHL's Hockey is for Everyone™ (HIFE) program, which provides children of all backgrounds the opportunity to play hockey. Total Hockey is an official sponsor of Try Hockey for Free Days. USA Hockey has 500 locations offering this unique opportunity to kids nationwide.
