The Capitals street team hosted a hockey clinic at each location, teaching campers and staff the basic skills of hockey such as stick-handling, passing and shooting. The students were then given the opportunity to practice each skill at different stations and even had a chance to try and score on the inflatable shooting cage.
The Capitals provided the street hockey equipment for each visit. Everyone who participated received a Capitals headband and sweatband combo pack.
This is the second-consecutive year that the Capitals have conducted a week-long street hockey tour in the summer. The Caps have visited more than 20 locations and reached more than 1,200 kids in the past two years.
