ARLINGTON, Va. - Washington Capitals alumnus Peter Bondra will serve as a coach for the Pavlikovsky Hockey School program at the Zayed Sports Ice Rink in Abu Dhabi from Nov. 13-14 in conjunction with Monumental Sports Global Academies.

"I'm excited to help grow the game in the UAE and use my experience to teach young hockey players in the region," said Bondra. "The opportunities to host these types of clinics around the globe will promote the growth of hockey and the Capitals brand."
Pavlikovsky Hockey School is an international ice hockey school designed to assist youth players with improving their hockey skills. The camp features on- and off-ice training under the instruction of NHL players as well as world champions. In addition to Bondra, coaches for the Nov. 13-14 session include Richard Linter, Miroslav Satan and Rasti Pavlikovsky.

Bondra played in 1,081 NHL games over a 16-season career, scoring 503 goals and 892 points. Bondra played in five All-Star Games and he remains second in Capitals' franchise history in goals (472) and points (825). The Lutsk, Ukraine, native represented Slovakia internationally on multiple occasions, highlighted by a gold medal at the 2002 IIHF World Championship and a bronze medal at the 2003 World Championship. He also played in two Olympics (1998, 2006) and in the World Cup of Hockey (1996). In addition, Bondra served as General Manager for Slovakia's national team from 2007-11 and as a scout for Team Europe at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
