The Washington Capitals raised $10,705 through the team’s Valentine’s Day Puck Surprise, which took place at the Caps game against the Rangers on Feb. 10. The fundraiser featured more than 400 pucks that were packaged with Hershey’s Kisses and signed by various Capitals players and sold for $25 apiece. The pucks went on sale when doors to Verizon Center opened at noon and were sold out by 12:40 p.m.
Congratulations to the Valentine’s Day Puck Surprise winners: Tyler Pittman, Jordan Woll, Ben Hatch, Laura Strauss and Thea Kreinik. The winners all selected unsigned pucks and got to meet Mike Green, who had just scored the game-winning goal in overtime, after the game. Green signed the winners’ pucks and took photos with them.
