The 2014 Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League Final

A packed house was on hand at Kettler Capitals IcePlex on Friday, February 28 for the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League (NVSHL) championship game. The Briar Woods Falcons (12-1) retained the Capitals Cup with a 4-1 victory over Stone Bridge Bulldogs (11-2). The first three goals were all Briar Woods with tallies by Zach Regester, Luke Benitez, and Bobby VanDusen. Nick Kaufman scored for Stone Bridge with a minute left to end the shutout bid before Tarek Zagade scored an empty-net goal for the 4-1 final. Briar Woods netminder Elliot Shelton came up huge with several key saves in the win.
