Thanks to significant demand for season tickets and partial plans as well as presale single-game ticket purchases by season-ticket holders, some games may have a very limited number of tickets available or even be sold out when individual tickets go on sale Sept. 20.
The home season begins with the Capitals raising their 2007-08 Southeast Division championship banner on Saturday, Oct. 11, against the Chicago Blackhawks at Verizon Center. Fans will receive a replica of the championship banner, presented by Geico.
Additional giveaways during the season include: a schedule magnet (Oct. 18 vs. New Jersey), a Bruce Boudreau bobblehead with the Jack Adams Trophy presented by Verizon (Nov. 14 vs. New Jersey), an Alex Ovechkin
bobblehead with the Hart Trophy and Lester B. Pearson Award (Dec. 18 vs. St. Louis), a Mike Gartner commemorative item (Dec. 28 vs. Toronto), a calculator presented by Sharp (Feb. 1 vs. Ottawa) and a red beach towel presented by Chevy Chase Bank (April 5 vs. Atlanta). Both bobblehead giveaways are limited to the first 15,000 fans.
The Capitals will host two special Kids Days: Feb. 7 and March 1, both vs. Florida. The first 5,000 children in attendance at those games will receive a Capitals lunch box (Feb. 7) and an autographed player photo (March 1). Two games – Nov. 26 vs. Atlanta and Feb. 1 vs. Ottawa – are Kids Club Days, with special activities planned for members of the Caps Kids Club.
Among the ticket promotions are special savings to select games for families and students. The Papa John’s Family Pack is available for 10 games and features four $35 tickets, a gift card for one free large one-topping Papa John’s pizza, four New Era Capitals hats and a Washington Mystics ticket voucher. A $275 value, Papa John’s Family Packs start at just $140.
Each Thursday night home game is a Caps Chipotle Student Rush game, where fans with a valid student ID can purchase lower-level tickets for $35 or upper-level tickets for $15. Each Chipotle Student Rush ticket comes with a gift card for a free Chipotle burrito. The Monday, Oct. 13, game against the Vancouver Canucks will be a special back-to-school Chipotle Student Rush game.
Other special events throughout the course of the season include Mike Gartner’s number retirement ceremony on Dec. 28 and the annual Fan Appreciation Game on April 5.
Single-game tickets start at $25 for the majority of the Capitals’ home games. Seven games – Oct. 11 vs. Chicago, Nov. 8 vs. N.Y. Rangers, Dec. 26 vs. Buffalo, Jan. 3 vs. N.Y. Rangers, Jan. 31 vs. Detroit, Feb. 22 vs. Pittsburgh and March 8 vs. Pittsburgh – have been designated as premium games.
Single-game preseason tickets and full and partial season ticket plans for 2008-09 are on sale now. Season ticket plans offer substantial savings from single-game tickets and numerous other benefits, including access to Stanley Cup playoff tickets and PowerPay, the Caps’ monthly interest-free payment option. Partial plans include a 22-Game Weekend Package, a You Pick 11 Package and four Pack the House 6-Packs. For more information on the benefits of each plan or to purchase tickets, contact a Capitals sales representative at 202-266-CAPS.
