Hath's Heroes, created by Capitals forward Garnet Hathaway and wife Lindsay, recently announced the recipients of the inaugural Hath's Hero of the Year Award. The award was established to honor local first responders nominated by their peers for going above and beyond in serving their communities. The three winners of the inaugural award are Sergeant Vithaya (Wit) Iem, Captain Scott Schermerhorn and Lieutenant Michael Snyder.

Even It Up - Back on Nov. 21, the Seattle Kraken handed the Caps a 5-2 setback in Washington's first-ever trip to the Emerald City to face the newest member of the NHL's Original 32. On Saturday night in the District, the Kraken made its first visit to Capital One Arena, and the Caps returned the favor, sending Seattle off to its next destination with a 5-2 defeat.

Conor Sheary scored a pair of goals - including the game-winner on the power play - to help the Caps get past the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night at Capital One Arena. Sheary's first goal snapped a 2-2 tie midway through the second period, and his second one went into an empty net late in the third to seal a 5-2 victory. Sheary's second goal of the game was the 100th of his career, and it was also his 200th career NHL point.

Bottom Of The Sea - The Seattle Kraken are in the District tonight, making their first ever appearance in D.C. in the opener of a five-game road trip and a set of back-to-back contests. The Kraken will continue on to Carolina on Sunday and will then loop back north to face the Eastern Conference's three Canadian clubs.
