Hath's Heroes, created by Capitals forward Garnet Hathaway and wife Lindsay, recently announced the recipients of the inaugural Hath's Hero of the Year Award. The award was established to honor local first responders nominated by their peers for going above and beyond in serving their communities. The three winners of the inaugural award are Sergeant Vithaya (Wit) Iem, Captain Scott Schermerhorn and Lieutenant Michael Snyder.

Sheary nets a pair of goals and special teams shine in Washington's win over Seattle

Conor Sheary scored a pair of goals - including the game-winner on the power play - to help the Caps get past the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night at Capital One Arena. Sheary's first goal snapped a 2-2 tie midway through the second period, and his second one went into an empty net late in the third to seal a 5-2 victory. Sheary's second goal of the game was the 100th of his career, and it was also his 200th career NHL point.
