Caps fans filled the ESPN Zone in downtown Washington, D.C., on Feb. 11 as radio play-by-play announcer Steve Kolbe held a question-and-answer session with Capitals center Brooks Laich at the restaurant. The session included several trivia questions where fans were able to win Rod Langway bobbleheads, a Capitals Mr. Potato Head and an ESPN Zone hat and shirt signed by Laich. The team also held a drawing where one fan received a hockey stick autographed by the team and one fan received an official game puck autographed by Nicklas Backstrom. Upon the conclusion of the session, Laich signed autographs and took pictures with fans.
ESPN Zone has also provided a Capitals-branded Dream Seat that will be raffled off to one lucky Caps fan after all of the team’s ESPN Zone visits are finished. Any fan that attends the player visits at ESPN Zone can sign up free of charge to enter the drawing. All of the players who appear at the ESPN Zone visits will sit in the chair and autograph it.
The Capitals will have two more player visits at ESPN Zone this season. Shaone Morrisonn will visit ESPN Zone in Baltimore on Thursday, Feb. 21, and Brent Johnson will be at the downtown D.C. location on Monday, Feb. 25.
