Premiere of Caps Red Line Highlights Winter Classic, Feb. 5 on Comcast SportsNet

ARLINGTON, Va. – Caps Red Line presented by GEICO is back for its third season and debuting on Comcast SportsNet Saturday, Feb. 5, at 9 a.m. The first episode of this fast-paced, behind-the-scenes show offers an inside look at Washington’s win in the 2011 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on New Year’s Day in Pittsburgh. All eight episodes air at 9 a.m. on Saturdays and will be replayed on Comcast SportsNet, through On Demand where available and on WashingtonCaps.com. A new episode will air every Saturday at 9 a.m. on Comcast SportsNet through March 26.


Highlights from the first episode, which focuses on the Winter Classic, include the perspective of NHL ice guru Dan Craig, all-access at the alumni game and the view of the events through John Carlson’s flip cam.

The Season with John Carlson presented by the washingtonexaminer.com
Caps Red Line will follow Caps rookie defenseman throughout his first full season in the NHL on and off the ice to see what life is like for an NHL rookie. CRL sent Carlson to the Winter Classic with a flip cam so viewers can experience the Winter Classic through his eyes.

Viewers get to ride with Capitals’ alumnus Yvon Labre on the bus from the Consol Energy Center to Heinz Field as the Capitals alumni team prepared for and played the first official Winter Classic alumni game.

GEICO All Access
Get a special on-the-bench look at the alumni game as Peter Bondra scores in the final minutes to tie the Penguins, 5-5. Get rare interviews with Caps alumni Don Beaupre, John Druce, Michal Pivonka and more.
