Playoff Episode of Caps Red Line Reflects on the 2011-12 Season and Looks Ahead to the First Playoff Opponent

ARLINGTON, Va. – Caps Red Line (CRL) presented by GEICO concludes its fourth season with a special playoff episode on Comcast SportsNet set to air on Sunday, April 8, at 7 p.m. This episode of the fast-paced, behind-the-scenes show offers an inside look at Alan May and Elliot Segal’s views on the Washington Capitals playoff future. Each episode will also be replayed on Comcast SportsNet and through the “On Demand” feature where available.

Returning for another season with CRL is Elliot Segal from Elliot in the Morning, Professor Lou Bloomfield, Ph.D., along with host Guerin Austin. Fans can watch archived episodes or stay up to date with the show on the Caps Red Line webpage on WashingtonCaps.com and the Red Line Channel on Caps365. CRL won the 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Program Achievement for Sports – Programming Series, by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS-NCCB).

Elliot’s Take On…

Hosted by Elliot of DC 101’s Elliot in the Morning presented by Inova Blood Donor Services

Elliot Segal is put to the test by Washington Capitals strength and conditioning coach Mark Nemish. Nemish runs Elliot through various drills he uses to keep the players in shape and explains how he approaches players’ nutrition and training regiments. Nemish puts Elliot on the bike, shows him proper stretch techniques and then runs him through strength and training exercises to put it all together.

CRL takes you behind the scenes of the Washington Capitals and Dreams for Kids skating event in February with Jay Beagle and Jason Chimera in honor of Hockey is for Everyone Month. The Capitals and Dreams for Kids charity teamed together to create an extreme recess to give children with special needs an opportunity to skate with their favorite team.
