Pick-A-Stick raises nearly $17,000 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals

Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation raised $16,840 through its Pick-A-Stick fundraiser that took place at Verizon Center during the Caps game against the Boston Bruins on March 5. The fundraiser featured more than 200 hockey sticks signed by various Caps players that sold for $80 each.

Caps fans Nissrin Ezermeli, Nick Hoover, Caitlin O’Dwyer, Steve Smith and Matthew Stargel selected sticks that were not signed, and as a result got to meet Capitals center Mike Ribeiro after the game. Ribeiro signed the winners’ hockey sticks and took photos with them.

The Capitals would like to congratulate our Pick-A-Stick grand-prize winners and thank all of the participants who helped make it a success.
