Pick-A-Stick Raises Nearly $11,000

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals
Washington Capitals Charities raised $10,907 through their Pick-A-Stick fundraiser that took place at Verizon Center during the Caps game against the Flyers on Jan. 13. The fundraiser featured more than 200 hockey sticks signed by various Caps players and sold for $50 each. The sticks went on sale when doors to Verizon Center opened at noon and were sold out only 35 minutes later.

Caps fans Catherine Romeo, Wendy Norwitz, Rich Morey, Audrey Mulholland and Sherry Chas selected sticks that were signed by Nicklas Backstrom, and as a result got to meet the Caps forward after the game. Backstrom signed a puck for each of the winners and took pictures with them.

The Capitals would like to congratulate our Pick-A-Stick grand-prize winners and thank all of the participants who helped make it a success! Be on the lookout for the Valentine’s Puck Surprise that will be coming Feb. 10 when the Caps take on the Rangers. 700K
