Pick-A-Stick Raises $13,000

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals

Washington Capitals Charities raised $13,000 through its Pick-A-Stick fundraiser that took place at Verizon Center during the Caps game against the Rangers on March 6. The fundraiser featured 200 hockey sticks signed by various Caps players that sold for $65 each. The sticks went on sale when doors to Verizon Center opened and were sold out only 40 minutes later.

Caps fans Michael Anderson, Mike Lanker, Greg Macur, Andrew Mummert and Jack Schuler selected sticks that were not signed, and as a result got to meet Jason Chimera after the game. Chimera signed the winners’ hockey sticks and took photos with them.

The Capitals would like to congratulate our Pick-A-Stick grand-prize winners and thank all of the participants who helped make it a success.
