Caps prospect participating; fans gathering to watch locally WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 3, 2007 – The NCAA Frozen Four comes to Verizon Center in 2009, but when the puck drops on this year’s event Thursday, April 5, in St. Louis, a Washington Capitals prospect will be participating and hockey fans will be gathering locally to watch the games on ESPN2.
North Dakota defenseman Joe Finley, a first-round choice of the Capitals in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, leads the Fighting Sioux in plus/minus rating (+18) entering their semifinal game against Boston College Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. The day’s first semifinal pits Maine against Michigan State and faces off at 4 p.m. ET at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

The U. S. Naval Academy, the Greater Washington Sports Alliance and the Washington Capitals will host the 2009 NCAA Frozen Four April 9-11, 2009, at Verizon Center. This will mark the first time the event has been held in the nation’s capital.
