The Washington Capitals raised $18,630 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation through the team’s Mystery Mini-Helmets, which took place at the Caps game against the Boston Bruins on Apr. 8. The fundraiser featured 465 mini-helmets that were signed by various Capitals players and sold for $40 each. Fans lined up on the concourse to purchase the mini-helmets as soon as they went on sale when the doors opened to Verizon Center.
Michelle Bowen, Wyatt Ketch, Kenneth Meyers, Justin Popek and Brandy Walko were the Mystery Mini-Helmets winners. The five winners selected unsigned mini-helmets and got to meet Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom after the game. Backstrom signed their mini-helmets and took photos with the winners.
All proceeds from Mystery Mini-Helmets benefit Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards.
The Capitals would like to congratulate our Mystery Mini-Helmets winners and thank all of the fans who helped make it a success.
