ARLINGTON, Va. – January 23, 2008 -
The Washington Capitals will host their first Kids Day on Saturday, Feb. 2, when the team takes on the Atlanta Thrashers at Verizon Center at 7 p.m. The night, devoted entirely to kids, will begin with a Mr. Potato Head giveaway for the first 5,000 kids 14 and younger in attendance.

The evening will also feature special events and games geared toward young Caps fans. Face painting, clowns, poster-making stations and photos with Caps mascot, Slapshot, are just a few of the activities planned for all kids in attendance.

All kid-friendly events are scheduled to take place on the concourse when doors open at 6 p.m. and will continue throughout the beginning of the game. Numerous features are scheduled throughout the course of the game, including the national anthem sung by kids, in-game video board contests and much more.

Saturday’s game also is a Family Pack Night, where families have the opportunity to purchase four tickets, four Capitals-branded caps, four pops and four hot dogs for $96. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the team’s website at WashingtonCaps.com.
