Jason Chimera Joins Caps on the Fly Feb. 8 at Hilton Garden Inn

ARLINGTON, Va. – The fifth edition of Caps on the Fly, the Washington Capitals’ monthly, hour-long live broadcast from the Hilton Garden Inn Washington D.C. Downtown, will be Monday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 7 p.m., with left wing Jason Chimera joining host Mike Vogel. Fans can watch the show live at the Hilton Garden Inn, located across the street from the McPherson Square Metro stop with access from the Blue and Orange lines at 815 14th Street NW in downtown Washington, D.C., or online at The next and final edition of Caps on the Fly will be March 22.

The Capitals acquired Chimera on Dec. 28 from Columbus for Chris Clark and Milan Jurcina. Since joining the Capitals the Edmonton, Alberta, native, has nine points (three goals, six assists) and a +4 rating in 16 games. On Jan. 13 at Florida the 30-year-old Chimera recorded the Caps first Gordie Howe hat trick since February 2006 when he scored a goal, had an assist and engaged in a fight.
Last month’s Caps on the Fly featured center David Steckel, who discussed his role on the Capitals this season and his success in the face-off circle. Fans can view archived episodes at the Caps on the Fly homepage. has proven to be extremely popular with fans looking for more Caps content. The site saw its monthly visits increase by 35% from January 2009 while the monthly unique visitors were up 36% and its audio and/or video podcasts routinely draw audiences in the thousands (live and downloaded).
In addition to Caps on the Fly, offers audio and/or video shows that stream live and are available for download or viewing: Capitals Report presented by Subway, a weekly show that airs Wednesday afternoon; PreCap presented by Scenic America, which airs at 2 p.m. on gamedays; and Two-Man Advantage, which airs at 5:30 p.m. prior to home games at Verizon Center.
