Help Fort Dupont Receive D.C. Funding in 2014

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals

On Monday, April 29, the D.C. City Council held a hearing concerning Mayor Gray's 2014 budget proposal, which includes $15 million for the construction of a new, two-sheet ice arena at Fort Dupont.

A new facility will drastically improve Fort Dupont’s programming options and allow them to bring their Kids On Ice® programs to many more D.C.-area children. If you are a D.C. resident, please consider providing support by submitting a written testament of your experiences at Fort Dupont Ice Arena (FDIA) by Friday, May 10, 2013.

Your letter may include:

  • Your involvement with FDIA and the programs you participate in
  • Outcomes in your child's health and fitness
  • Outcomes in your child's education
  • The diverse family friendly atmosphere at the rink
  • Personal stories regarding the impact Fort Dupont has had on your family and the community

To make the most impact, Fort Dupont would like to send all letters as one bundled package to each member of the Workforce and Community Affairs Committee. We will mail your original letter to chairman Marion Barry and mail copies to the other members.

Please MAIL your letter to:
