Capitals defenseman Mike Green
is hosting a charity concert at the 9:30 Club on Monday, Dec. 13, at 8 p.m. featuring G. Love and Special Sauce. Tickets start at $50, with a limited number of VIP packages available for $500. Each VIP package includes two tickets to the concert in the VIP section and a meet and greet and autograph session with Green and some of his Capitals teammates. Proceeds benefit So Kids Can, Green’s fundraising initiative with Elliot Segal of Elliot in the Morning that benefits a different youth-focused, nonprofit organization each year.
This season Green, Segal and other So Kids Can supporters will work with KaBOOM! to raise money to build a Capitals-themed playground for an underserved community in the Washington, D.C., area. KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., is dedicated to saving play across the country and is best known for its all-volunteer, done-in-a-day playground builds. Once So Kids Can meets its fundraising goal and a site has been selected, select Caps fans will be invited to take part in the playground construction.
