Fall Puck Surprise Raises $18,000 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals raised $18,000 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation through the team’s Fall Puck Surprise, which took place at the Caps game against the Florida Panthers on Nov. 2. The fundraiser featured 450 pucks that were packaged with Hershey’s Kisses and signed by various Capitals players and sold for $40 each. Fans lined up on the concourse to purchase the pucks as soon as they went on sale when the doors opened to Verizon Center.

Jason Bobrow, Lynn Brownell, Lori Lackey, Brian Lashier and Melanie Turner were the Fall Puck Surprise winners. The five winners selected unsigned pucks and got to meet Capitals right wing Tom Wilson after the Caps victory. Wilson signed their pucks and took photos with the winners.

All proceeds from the Fall Puck Surprise benefit Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards.

The Capitals would like to congratulate our Fall Puck Surprise winners and thank all of the fans who helped make it a success.
