Emmy Winning Caps Red Line Debuts Fourth Season Feb. 11 on Comcast SportsNet

ARLINGTON, Va. – Caps Red Line (CRL) presented by GEICO is back for its fourth season and will debut on Comcast SportsNet on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 9 a.m. Caps Red Line is a fast-paced, behind-the-scenes look at one of the most exciting teams in the NHL. Each episode will also be replayed on Comcast SportsNet and through the “On Demand” feature where available. A new episode will air every Saturday at 9 a.m. on Comcast SportsNet through March 31. CRL won the 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Program Achievement for Sports – Programming Series, by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS-NCCB).

Returning for another season with CRL is Elliot Segal from Elliot in the Morning, Professor Lou Bloomfield, Ph.D. along with host Guerin Austin. Fans can watch archived episodes or stay up to date with the show on the Caps Red Line webpage on and the Red Line Channel on Caps365.

The Season

Caps Red Line will follow defenseman Dennis Wideman as he embarks on his first NHL All-Star trip. Take a behind-the-scenes look at the 2012 NHL All-Star Game through Wideman’s eyes. CRL will also go behind the scenes with two new Capitals – Jeff Halpern and Joel Ward. Watch as Halpern talks about coming home to play for his hometown team. Ward discusses trying to become involved in Washington’s community and continuing his tradition of becoming a role model for young hockey players in the city he plays in.

Cruisin’ presented by Inova Blood Donor Services
Viewers will get an intimate first-person drive with Capitals’ players, alumni and other special guests as they discuss life in the nation’s capital.

Elliot’s Take On…
Hosted by Elliot of DC 101’s Elliot in the Morning Elliot will give viewers his unique perspective on anything and everything related to Capitals hockey.

Forces of Hockey presented by Herb Gordon Subaru
Hosted by Professor Lou Bloomfield, Ph.D.

Professor Bloomfield is a physics professor at the University of Virginia, and he will be returning to discuss the physics of the game. This season Professor Bloomfield will have some help from new professors at Kettler.

Capitals’ radio play-by-play broadcaster John Walton and Capitals’ senior writer Mike Vogel will go one-on-one with Capitals alumni.
