Eighth Episode of Caps Red Line Cooks With Caps Mike Green, Roman Hamrlik and Tomas Vokoun

ARLINGTON, Va. – Caps Red Line (CRL) presented by GEICO is back for its fourth season with the final episode of the regular season on Comcast SportsNet set to air on Saturday, March 31, at 9 a.m. The eighth episode of this fast-paced, behind-the-scenes show offers an inside look at Caps Mike Green, Roman Hamrlik and Tomas Vokoun as they move into the kitchen for a good cause and learn some useful tips from Top Chef’s Spike Mendelsohn. Each episode will also be replayed on Comcast SportsNet and through the “On Demand” feature where available. A new episode will air every Saturday at 9 a.m. on Comcast SportsNet through March 31.

Returning for another season with CRL is Elliot Segal from Elliot in the Morning, Professor Lou Bloomfield, Ph.D., along with host Guerin Austin. Fans can watch archived episodes or stay up to date with the show on the Caps Red Line webpage on and the Red Line Channel on Caps365. CRL won the 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Program Achievement for Sports – Programming Series, by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS-NCCB).

Cruisin’ presented by Inova Blood Donor Services
Cruise with Caps forward Jay Beagle as he takes his dog Sam to the dog park to meet up with Karl Alzner and John Carlson. Beagle discusses his first full season in Washington, D.C., and in the NHL. Listen as he discusses how his role on the team has changed and how he wants to help the Capitals in their push to make the playoffs.

X’s and O’s presented by SUBWAY® Restaurants
Watch as Caps assistant coach Dean Evason breaks down the different defensive schemes with the help of Jay Beagle. Evason discusses the different styles in shutting down opposing teams’ power plays. The duo then move to 4-on-4 hockey to talk about how to close up shooting lanes when there is more ice to work with.

GEICO All Access
CRL takes you behind the scenes of the Washington Capitals Season-Ticket Holder party at Six Flags. As the regular season winds down, take a look back at one of the key events that kicked off the 2011-12 campaign. Ride along with Caps Jason Chimera and Troy Brouwer as they ride rollercoasters and discuss what the event means to them and to the fans.

The Season
In the finale of “The Season,” five Caps players discuss their college roots and why they chose to play collegiate hockey. Jay Beagle (Alaska at Anchorage), Jeff Halpern (Princeton), Matt Hendricks (St. Cloud State), Mike Knuble (Michigan) and Joel Ward (Univ. of Prince Edward Island) recount stories of their fondest moments of their college days.

Hosted by Professor Lou Bloomfield, Ph.D. and special guest “Professor” Troy Brouwer
Professor Lou and Professor Brouwer discuss the science behind power skating this week. Brouwer talks about his skate training and when he trains and the duo also talk to power skating coach Wendy Marco, who trains a number of current players including Jeff Halpern.

Guerin’s Take On…
Watch as host Guerin Austin gives her take on a recent charity cooking session with Caps fans and Caps players Mike Green, Roman Hamrlik and Tomas Vokoun. CRL learns that both Hamrlik and Vokoun took cooking classes in their native county of the Czech Republic and discover that Vokoun even attended culinary school. Top Chef’s Spike Mendelsohn leads the cooking demonstration and helps teach the participants proper cooking techniques.
