Development Camp Blog: Riley Barber Day 5

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals

By Riley Barber

I had a lot of fun this week at camp.  It was especially awesome to see the guys that I had become pretty good friends with at last year’s camp.  It’s really been a blast all week – played some good games and had some fun in the down time as well.

I met a lot of new guys, and became closer with some of the guys I had already met, so that was definitely good.  It’s a lot of fun.  You get to see new people.  They’re all hockey guys, so they’re all fun. Me and some of the other guys from camp continue to keep in touch throughout our seasons and try to meet up with each other whenever we can.  I Facebook [Taylor] Stefishen all the time, so we try and meet up when we’re in the same place.

For the rest of the summer, I’m going to go back to Michigan to work out for a couple weeks, and then go to World Junior camp in Lake Placid, N.Y.  Actually, a couple other guys from camp will be there.  [Tom] Wilson for Canada, and [Connor] Carrick for the USA team. Then after that, I’ll go back home for a couple more weeks then head back to Miami [University of Ohio] for school.
