The Capitals earned 101 points this season, passing their total from 2013-14 (90). Washington ranked seventh in the NHL in goals against (2.43) this season after finishing 21st in the League last season (2.79). The Capitals ranked tied for 10th in shots against per game (28.9) while last season’s team ranked 27th (33.5). In addition, the Capitals finished 2014-15 ranked fourth in the NHL in goal differential (+34) after finishing last season ranked 18th (-15).

The Capitals posted a 22-13-6 record on the road this season, marking Washington’s most road wins in a season since 2010-11 (23) and the third-most road wins the team has earned in a season in franchise history.
