Chevy Chase Bank Warm Hearts Coat Drive

The Capitals, Chevy Chase Bank and WMZQ teamed up to host the Warm Hearts Coat Drive at the Caps game Nov. 27 at MCI Center. More than 3,000 coats were collected and every Capitals fan that donated a coat received a Jeff Halpern poster. Capitals president and owner Dick Patrick and right wing Stephen Peat presented Yvette Golladay of Chevy Chase Bank with a plaque during the game to acknowledge their commitment to the community.

This is the fifth year that the Caps have hosted the Warm Hearts Coat Drive. Through this event the Capitals and Chevy Chase Bank have provided coats for more than 10,000 people. Charities that have received coat donations include Center City Community Corporation, D.C. Coalition for the Homeless, Mary’s House, My Sister’s Place, Baptist Home for Children and Families, Crossway Community, Lutheran Social Services, Catholic Charities/St. Vincent de Paul Society, Georgia Avenue Family Support Collaborative, Easter Seals Children’s Center and SOME.
