by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals
Washington Capitals team captain Chris Clark took part in the Dulles Family Day Festival and Plane Pull on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Dulles International Airport. The event, in its 15th year, benefited Special Olympics Virginia.

Clark signed autographs and took pictures with fans at the Southwest Airlines booth. He was scheduled to participate in the 145,000-pound plane pull with Team Southwest Airlines, but unfortunately had to leave before his team was up.
“It was great to be out here today with the Southwest Airlines crew,” said Clark. “I was surprised to see how many people were here considering how hot it was. That just goes to show what a fun event it is.”
Alongside the ever-popular plane pull, the festival also featured military and civilian aircraft displays, a car show and an exhibitor area that displayed products and services of many local businesses. A kids’ zone filled with fun activities and interactive games was also available for kids to take part in.
