The Washington Capitals, Z104 and the Capital Area Food Bank are teaming up to host a canned food drive at the Caps game Sunday, Oct. 16. Donations will be accepted at both the F Street and Gallery Place Entrances at MCI Center from the time gates open at 5 p.m. until the 10 minute mark in the first period. The Capitals, Z104 and the Capital Area Food Bank urge all Caps fans to donate at least one can of food and help end hunger in the Washington area.
All donations benefit the Capital Area Food Bank, the largest public nonprofit food and nutrition education resource in the Washington metro area. Through its network of more than 750-member feeding programs, the food bank distributes millions of pounds of food to the community and educates thousands of local residents on hunger, poverty and nutrition issues each year.
