Caps Better Halves Raise Funds for Love for Lokomotiv

The Caps better halves are participating in a league-wide fundraising effort headed by NHL players’ wives and girlfriends to help the families of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team that were affected by the tragic plane crash that took place on Sept. 7 in Russia.

The Caps better halves will be selling bracelets at the community relations table located on the main concourse at section 103/104 during the Capitals home opener against the Hurricanes on Oct. 8 at Verizon Center. These red, silicone remembrance bracelets will be sold for a donation of $5 with all proceeds benefiting the families of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team.

Wives and girlfriends from all 30 NHL teams are involved in this project. If you are unable to attend the game on Oct. 8, you can purchase bracelets at The cost online is $10 for silicone bracelets, $25 for kids’ beaded bracelets and $50 for adult beaded bracelets.
