Fan Appreciation Week begins on Monday, April 2, with the first of six days full of giveaways. Three Capitals autographed items per day will be given away via the team’s web site, WashingtonCaps.com. Fans will be asked to submit their most memorable moment from the 2006-07 season, with winners being selected each day in the online contest. The moment that receives the most votes will be named the “Fans’ Moment of the Season” and will be recognized during Fan Appreciation Day. In addition to autographed items, the “Capitals Alumni Suite Experience,” will also be up for grabs, giving randomly selected plan holders a unique experience for the final game of the season. The lucky winners will receive a pair of tickets for a fully catered suite for the Capitals/Sabres game on April 7 and will have the opportunity to meet and watch the game with Capitals alumni.
On Tuesday, April 3, the Capitals will randomly select fans attending that evening’s game versus Florida to receive “Game Day Gifts.” The gifts will consist of autographed items and other great prizes. Also on Tuesday, season ticket holders will be receiving thank you videos via e-mail and on the team’s web site from Capitals players
The week continues on Wednesday, April 4, with a viewing party at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex. Fans will be able to watch the Capitals face off against the Atlanta Thrashers on a giant video screen while taking part in an open skate at the new practice facility in Arlington, Va. The event will also feature a visit by a current player and an “Enter to Win” on-site contest for a pair of tickets to the Capitals season finale on April 7.
The autographed item and suite ticket giveaways will continue on Thursday, April 5, as the Capitals and fans prepare for the last game of the season.
Friday, April 6, will feature an exciting Capitals Alumni “Black & White” game that will also held at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. Participating alumni will include Rod Langway, Sylvain Cote, Craig Laughlin, Bobby Gould, Pat Peake, Pat Ribble, Lou Franceschetti and Alan May. Current Caps Tomas Fleischmann and Mike Green
will be on hand to sign autographs from 6-7 p.m. The alumni will take the ice at 7:05 p.m.
The week-long celebration will conclude with Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 7, when Washington takes on Buffalo in the Caps’ final game of the regular season. Caps alumni will be on hand signing autographs prior to the game and all fans in attendance will receive an Alex Ovechkin
banner. The night will also feature the special “Shirts Off Our Backs” giveaway, presenting randomly selected fans with a player’s game-worn jersey at the end of the contest. Other prizes include game-used equipment, airline tickets and gift certificates. Winners will be announced throughout the game and special messages from the players will be shown on the video board.
