Capitals to Hold Playoff Media Day on April 8 at MedStar Capitals Iceplex

NBC Sports Washington will provide live coverage beginning at 12 p.m.

The Washington Capitals will hold their first media availability of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs following a 10:30 a.m. practice on Monday, April 8, at Medstar Capitals Iceplex. All Capitals players, head coach Todd Reirden and general manager Brian MacLellan will be available to the media. Players will be available to the media in the Capitals locker room at the conclusion of their on-ice session. MacLellan will address the media following Reirden's media availability at approximately 12:15 p.m.

NBC Sports Washington will deliver live coverage of playoff media day from MedStar Capitals Iceplex, which will be available to stream live exclusively on the MyTeams app. CapitalsTalk: Playoff Preview, hosted by Rob Carlin and Alan May, will feature interviews with special guests, including players and coaches, along with news, analysis and commentary. The program will encore that evening on NBC Sports Washington at 6 p.m. and April 9 at 7:30 p.m. and will be available as a podcast under the Capitals Talk brand.

Additionally, the Sports Junkies (6-10 a.m.) and Grant & Danny (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.) of 106.7 FM The Fan (WJFK-FM) will broadcast live from MedStar Capitals Iceplex with select Capitals players and coaches joining the show. The Sports Junkies will also be available to watch live on NBC Sports Washington.

The full schedule with matchups, dates, times and broadcast information for the First Round of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs will be released at 10 a.m. ET on Sunday, April 7.
