ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have teamed up with DC 101, Elliot in the Morning and Hair Cuttery to present a special promotion for the Capitals 2008 playoff run. On Thursday, April 10, Caps defenseman Mike Green will be on the air with Elliot from DC 101’s Elliot in the Morning radio show and both will get playoff mohawks to support the team’s “Rock the 'Hawk” promotion, which is presented by Hair Cuttery.

Beginning at 7 a.m. the following day (Friday, April 11), the first 45 fans to arrive at the Elliot in the Morning studio in Rockville, Md., and have their head shaved into a mohawk will receive a single ticket to Game 1 of the 2008 Stanley Cup quarterfinals that night at Verizon Center. They will also receive a special Rock the 'Hawk T-shirt to wear to the game, presented by Bud Light.

Those fans who cannot make it to the studio on Friday can go to RFD, located in downtown Washington D.C., beginning at 5:30 p.m. for a special pre-party before the Capitals battle the Philadelphia Flyers at Verizon Center. A very limited number of tickets to the evening’s game will be available for fans who receive a playoff mohawk at RFD. Stylists from Hair Cuttery will be at RFD serving up mohawks to desiring fans. Bud and Bud Light drink specials will also be available from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and fans who already have tickets to Friday’s game will also be able to receive playoff mohawks.

Hair Cuttery will also be on-site at the Verizon Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. Stylists will be shaving mohawks for fans in the arena who would like to follow Green’s lead and support the Capitals in the playoffs.
