Capitals Sign Tim McGauley

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have signed center Tim McGauley to a three-year, entry-level contract, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

McGauley, 20, registered 105 points (42g, 63a) in 72 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL) in 2014-15. The Wilcox, Saskatchewan, native led the Wheat Kings in goals, assists and points last season and ranked third in the WHL in points, fourth in assists and tied for sixth in goals. McGauley was named the Eastern Conference player of the year in 2014-15 and was a finalist for the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy, awarded to the WHL player of the year. The 6’1”, 175-pound center ranked third among Brandon skaters in points (60) and assists (39) during the 2013-14 season and tied for first in points (45), second in assists (28) and tied for second in goals (17) on the team in 2012-13. In 220 career WHL games with Brandon, McGauley has tallied 210 points (80g, 130a).

McGauley will be assigned to Brandon (WHL) for the 2015-16 season.
