by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Capitals have recalled left wing Tomas Fleischmann from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Fleischmann, 22, played 14 games with the Capitals last season, recording two assists. The third-year professional was the Bears’ leading scorer in the playoffs last season, posting 11 goals and 21 assists (32 points) in 20 games as Hershey won the Calder Cup. He led the Bears in goals (30) and ranked second in points (63) in just 57 AHL games last season, one of only four of the AHL’s top 40 scorers with fewer than 60 games played.

A 6’1”, 190-pound native of Koprivinice, Czech Republic, Fleischmann played in four preseason games with the Capitals this season, recording two points (one goal, one assist).;
