Capitals Recall Jonas Johansson from Hershey

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Capitals have recalled right wing Jonas Johansson from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

 
Johansson, 22, ranks seventh on the Bears with 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) in 28 games this season. A third-year professional from Jonkoping, Sweden, Johansson made his NHL debut in the Capitals’ season finale last year. A first-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2002, the 6’2”, 190-pound Johansson was acquired by the Capitals in October 2003.
 
Johansson will be available for this evening’s game at Buffalo (7 p.m.; Comcast SportsNet; WTNT-AM 570) and would wear No. 45.
