ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have re-assigned right wing Stanislav Galiev to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.
Galiev, 23, made his NHL debut on April 8 against Boston and scored his first NHL goal on Saturday against the Rangers. The Moscow native has registered 45 points (25 goals, 20 assists) in 64 games with Hershey (AHL) this season and has set career highs in goals, assists and points, leads the AHL in power-play goals (15) and ranks first among Bears skaters in goals. Galiev recorded a career-high six game point streak from Feb. 6-15 (five goals, four assists) and has tallied 10 multi-point games this season. The 6’1”, 187-pound right wing has earned 52 points (28 goals, 24 assists) in 97 career AHL games. Galiev was selected by Washington in the third round, 86th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
