ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have re-assigned forward Mike Sgarbossa to the Hershey Bears of the AHL, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

Sgarbossa, 27, has played in two games for the Capitals this season, averaging 8:07 TOI per game. In 50 career NHL games between Washington, the Anaheim Ducks, Florida Panthers and Colorado Avalanche, Sgarbossa has recorded 10 points (2g, 8a).
The 6'0", 185-pound forward leads Hershey this season with seven goals and 14 points (7g, 7a) in 17 games. Last season with Hershey, the Campbellville, Ont., native was one of 13 players in the AHL to record 30 goals. In 404 career AHL games between Hershey, the Manitoba Moose, the Springfield Thunderbirds, the San Diego Gulls, the Norfolk Admirals and the Lake Erie Monsters, Sgarbossa has recorded 278 points (109g, 169a) and was an AHL All Star in 2013.
