Nov. 13 Event Part of Westfield Works Wonders
WASHINGTON, D.C. - November 9, 2005 - Washington Capitals centers Dainius Zubrus and Andrew Cassels will be on hand to sign autographs at Westfield Montgomery Mall Sunday, Nov. 13 from 7-8:30 p.m.
The players will be present as part of Westfield Works Wonders, an annual event of one-night-only special holiday discounts, live musical performances, free gift-wrapping and celebrity appearances. The evening partners Westfield shopping centers with local charitable organizations and community groups to raise awareness and much-needed contributions to support important local programs.
In 2004, Westfield Works Wonders was held in 29 Westfield shopping centers across the country and raised more than $2.1 million in charitable contributions for nearly 3,000 charities and nonprofit organizations. Since its inception in 1997, the Maryland Westfield shopping centers - Annapolis, Montgomery and Wheaton - have raised more than $550,000 for more than 250 participating community organizations, and on a nationwide spectrum, Westfield shopping centers have raise more than $10 million through this event.
