Capitals Players Participate in Movember

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals
The Mo (slang for moustache) and November come together each year for Movember – and this year Caps players Karl Alzner, Troy Brouwer, John Carlson, Jason Chimera, John Erskine, Matt Hendricks, Mike Green, DJ King, Mathieu Perreault, Jeff Schultz and Joel Ward are all set to be a part of it.

Movember is the annual charity event that engages men to grow, and women to support, a Mo for the 30 days of November. The rules are simple: register at and start Movember 1 clean-shaven. Men grow their Mos for 30 days, becoming walking, talking billboards for men’s health and cancer affecting men. Supporters, called Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, get friends, family and colleagues to donate to their efforts along the way.

In the US, Movember’s men’s health partners are the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG.

Follow the progress of Mo Bros Alzner Brouwer, Carlson, Chimera, Erskine, Hendricks, Green, King, Perreault, Schultz and Ward on all month. Make sure to tune in to Capitals Report on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. ET as co-hosts Mike Vogel and John Walton will also be participating.

Last year alone Movember had nearly 450,000 supporters and raised $81 million to change the face of men’s health.
