ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation announced today that all team in-game memorabilia sales and auctions will be held on Handbid, a native app that empowers users to bid on auction items using a mobile device, online or with a tablet during events.
Through Handbid, bidders can enter bids remotely or locally, manage their bids with proxy bidding and instantly view the status of all bids.
Users will be able to purchase or bid on items from Capitals in-game memorabilia sales and auctions, participate in game-worn jersey auctions and bid on MSE Foundation gift baskets. Fans also will be able to use the app during special events, including MSE Foundation’s Casino Night on Nov. 14.
Fans who wish to participate in the auctions should download the app on all of their Apple and Android devices, then create an account by following the app’s instructional prompts. Handbid users can also access in-game memorabilia sales and auctions online and do not have to be present at Capitals games to participate in the bidding.
The memorabilia for sale and auction items will still be on display at sections 104 and 109 as they have been in the past, so game attendees can see the merchandise in person. The Capitals and MSE Foundation will also provide a limited number of iPads at each memorabilia sale and auction, so that fans can bid at the tables.
Visit WashingtonCaps.com/Auctions for a list of in-game memorabilia sales and auction dates or stop by the MSE Foundation table at Section 104 on the concourse or the Capitals Auctions tables located along the concourse in Section 109 for more information.
