Season-ticket holders receive exclusive opportunity to buy and sell tickets online in secure forum

ARLINGTON, Va. –  December 10, 2007 – The Washington Capitals have joined with Ticketmaster to offer TicketExchange exclusively to all Capitals season-ticket holders. TicketExchange offers Caps season-ticket holders a safe and secure forum to buy and sell to other fans tickets that may otherwise go unused.

“TicketExchange is a great opportunity for our fans to get the most out of their season-ticket plans,” said Capitals vice president of ticket sales Jim Van Stone. “This gives season-ticket holders the option to purchase a plan and not worry about what happens to their tickets if they can’t make a game. They can sell those tickets and still have all of the benefits of being a Capitals season-ticket holder.”

The program allows fans to have more flexibility with their ticket plans, giving them control over which tickets they use and which they choose to sell in the online forum. Ticketholders may log-on to TicketExchange from their online Caps Account Manager account and post their tickets for sale to the general public safely and easily. When the ticket sells, the season ticket holder receives a credit directly to his or her online account.

“The Caps are committed to their fans, and their decision to offer the TicketExchange resale service adds immediate value to a fan’s ticket purchase as well as added security,” said Patrick Darr, President, Ticketmaster Washington DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia.  “Fans may now visit the risk-free TicketExchange to purchase tickets to a Caps game that might be sold out, or to obtain a ticket located in a specific seating section that might not otherwise be available.”

Fans who purchase tickets through TicketExchange will receive a brand new ticket with a unique barcode identifying the purchaser as the new owner of that ticket. Those interested in buying tickets through TicketExchange may do so by visiting Ticketmaster.com, locating the game they would like to attend and clicking the TicketExchange tab. Fans can review which tickets are available and proceed to purchase safely and securely online, with the simple click of a button.
