Capitals Host USAA's Military Appreciation Night Dec. 8

Purple Heart recipient recognition highlights event

WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 7, 2006 – The Washington Capitals will host USAA’s Military Appreciation Night Friday, Dec. 8, when the Capitals take on the Anaheim Ducks at 7 p.m. at Verizon Center. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a free miniature American flag and the intermission game will feature two fans having the opportunity to shoot a puck on goal for a chance to win $10,000, courtesy of USAA.


In addition to the giveaways, USAA will also recognize three recipients of the Purple Heart, a U.S. military decoration awarded in the name of the President of the United States to those who have been wounded or killed in action while serving in an armed conflict.
