ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals radio network will expand to the Fredericksburg, Va., area with the remaining regular-season games and all of the Capitals Stanley Cup playoff games being carried on 96.5 FM and 1350 AM The Game. The station’s Capitals coverage begins on Thursday, March 3 when Washington takes on the St. Louis Blues at 7 p.m. at Verizon Center. Both stations are part of the Star Radio Group.

“We’re very excited to be associated with a Stanley Cup caliber team,” said general manager of Star Radio Group John M. Moen. “Bringing the Capitals to the Fredericksburg area will not only generate considerable interest in our station, it’s also a great chance for the Caps to please their current fans and gain new ones. This is a great partnership for everyone.”

“We are extremely excited to partner with the Star Radio Group and look forward to bringing Capitals hockey broadcast to the Fredericksburg area,” said vice president and chief communications officer of Monumental Sports & Entertainment Kurt Kehl. “We know there are plenty of Caps fans in Fredericksburg, and now they can catch all the action on 96.5 FM and 1350 AM The Game.”

Due to previous conflicts March 18, March 26 and April 2 games will not air on the stations.
